[ There's a quiet sound from him, almost too faint to be heard, but it had been a humoured reaction to Tsukishima's statement. His tone, the words, are filled with a sense of exasperated affection for the male in question when he says ] Yeah, he does that. [ Kenma simply gives a nod in acknowledgement of that gratitude, following after the other looking all the more eager now that they're inside. Tsukishima gets his silent gratitude for ordering for them both, his hands fishing into his pocket for the money he'd brought with him while his gaze roams the interior surroundings in search of the best seats. ] Do you want to sit at a table or a booth?

[the quiet sound puzzles him for a moment, because he isn't accustomed to parsing subtle expressions or sounds (since all his friends are anything but), and when he eventually places it as a sound of amusement, the corners of his own lips turn up minutely. he pays by handing over the credit card that had been given to him in his welcome packet, which still feels strange and like something an adult should be doing instead of a fifteen year old, but no one's fussed at him or tried to take it back, so it must be okay.]

A table is probably better. I'll end up kicking you if I can't move my chair back.

[just because he knows what to do with his stork legs 90% of the time doesn't mean he isn't still a gangly teenager sometimes. when the waitress places two porcelain plates, complete with doilies on them and everything, with the cake on a tray, he picks it up and follows kenma to wherever he decided they should sit.]

[ He mulls over that for but a moment before silently agreeing, making sure to wait for Tsukishima to have the cake in possession before he turns and heads over to a table by the front windows, choosing one that at least won't have the morning sunlight shining in their faces. ] I can pay you back sometime. [ He calls behind his shoulder, grateful for the fact that Tsukishima had paid but still feeling the need to say that. And Kenma takes a seat, eager anticipation bright in his face, gold eyes wide as he peers at the tray. ] It looks really good. We got big pieces.

[tsukishima is grateful that the table kenma choses is positioned away from the early morning sunlight streaming through the windows. taking a seat across the table, he's glad to see how (relatively) excited kenma looks about the cake, because it makes him feel less self-conscious about his own anticipation. he nods in response to being paid back sometime in the future, because he's not very concerned about it at the moment; it's just nice to think that they might have the chance to hang out again.]

Mm, I bet it's because we were the first customers.

[he takes the plates from the tray, setting one in front of kenma and the other in front of himself along with forks and napkins, setting the empty tray aside once the motions are complete.]
