"If someone isn't dead, dying, or on fire, think very carefully if you want to bother me. Also yes, there is a lion in my house, a real, breathing, shitting, man-eating lion. I'm not making it up. Fuck off."

You could always come over to our place sometime. [ The offer has his own gaze sliding off to the side, not focused on anything in particular, as he briefly muses over what might be his own false assumption that Tsukishima would even want to do something like that. ] I mean, I don't think Kuro would mind, and you guys could probably practice together.
[ It's not like Kenma's a volleyball player, too, or anything, nope.
He brightens when the owner appears, a quickness to his reaction that Kenma normally doesn't have, and he pauses in front of the door as if waiting - before it occurs to him that he's maybe a little too used to his childhood friend opening and holding doors for him. He takes it upon himself to do the same for Tsukishima instead, propping the door open with a foot to let the other go first. ]

[it's a little weird to be the one following behind kenma, since usually he's the one forging ahead with yamaguchi hot on his heels. but regardless, it's nice of him to open the door for him, and he nods in recognition as he steps inside. immediately, he's assaulted with the smell of sweets and fresh-baked bread, and it makes him inhale deep and sigh. god, he loves this place.
he approaches the counter, eyes immediately locating the plate closest to him that bears a pretty hand-written card that says: "New! Blackberry cake with home made cream cheese icing". he points in lieu of actually saying anything.] Two, please. To eat here. [the place was still deserted this early, so they could eat in peace.]
no subject
Yeah, he does that.
[ Kenma simply gives a nod in acknowledgement of that gratitude, following after the other looking all the more eager now that they're inside. Tsukishima gets his silent gratitude for ordering for them both, his hands fishing into his pocket for the money he'd brought with him while his gaze roams the interior surroundings in search of the best seats. ]
Do you want to sit at a table or a booth?
no subject
A table is probably better. I'll end up kicking you if I can't move my chair back.
[just because he knows what to do with his stork legs 90% of the time doesn't mean he isn't still a gangly teenager sometimes. when the waitress places two porcelain plates, complete with doilies on them and everything, with the cake on a tray, he picks it up and follows kenma to wherever he decided they should sit.]

I can pay you back sometime. [ He calls behind his shoulder, grateful for the fact that Tsukishima had paid but still feeling the need to say that. And Kenma takes a seat, eager anticipation bright in his face, gold eyes wide as he peers at the tray. ] It looks really good. We got big pieces.
no subject
Mm, I bet it's because we were the first customers.
[he takes the plates from the tray, setting one in front of kenma and the other in front of himself along with forks and napkins, setting the empty tray aside once the motions are complete.]
